Scroll of the Tally
Dice faces are patterns, not dots. Train your eyes to see the number instantly, then add like a master.
Instant Sight
Never count the dots of a single die. Learn the six faces as pictures, like letters.
⚄
- → Four corners plus a centre
- → That pattern is always 5
Answer: 5
Practice: Glance at a die for under a second and name it.
Partner Dice
Look for dice that make 10 together (4+6, 5+5) and add those first.
4 + 2 + 6 + 3
- → 4 + 6 = 10
- → 2 + 3 = 5
- → 10 + 5 = 15
Answer: 15
Opposite faces of a real die always add up to 7.
Practice: Roll four dice and find the tens before adding.
